Description

EThekwini Municipality is launching an Artisan Development Programme for unemployed youth, focusing on Millwright and Carpentry, with applications closing on November 14, 2025. This program, lasting no longer than three years, invites residents of eThekwini aged 18-35 who have a minimum qualification of N2 or relevant N6 certificate and who are South African citizens. Participants must complete an apprenticeship, undergoing assessments and a formal trade test at the program's conclusion. Individuals with disabilities are encouraged to apply. Responsibilities

  • Complete an apprenticeship programme as per the specified and regulated criteria of the applicable Seta/QCTO and the National Artisan Moderating Body
  • Undergo various assessments
  • Undergo a formal trade test to qualify as an Artisan in the relevant trade

Qualifications

  • N2 certificate including the relevant trade theory subject
  • Technical/Grade 12 with Maths and Physical Science/ Engineering science and related trade theory subject
  • Relevant N6 certificate or National Technical diploma
